Madhur Singh Bundela, the gracious host, dreamt of reconnecting with his Bundelkhand origins after years in Delhi’s urban sprawl. This dream began a decade ago, culminating post-pandemic in the thoughtfully constructed farmhouse-style retreat that is Chandera Kothi.
Spread across four acres of fertile farmland, the Kothi invites you to pause, reflect, and embrace the beauty of unhurried living. Imagine waking up to the soft sunlight filtering through your window, with the river view accompanied by a symphony of chirping birds, like peacocks, hornbills, and the striking Indian roller among them. Step outside to sip your morning tea, and you might spot a kingfisher diving into the clear waters or catch a glimpse of a family of jackals making their way through the forest at dusk.
The ethos of Chandera Kothi is steeped in sustainability and respect for nature. Every brick, door, and window has a story. These bricks are reclaimed from nearby hamlets, sourced locally, or upcycled with care. The walls are adorned with Vedic paint and plaster crafted from organic materials, while the interiors resonate with understated elegance, reflecting Bundelkhand’s rich legacy.
At the heart of the Chandera Kothi experience is the food. It is a celebration of heirloom recipes and farm-fresh ingredients. From tangy moringa flower curry to flaxseed chutney, every dish is a labor of love, passed down through generations of Madhur’s family. The meals are as diverse as they are delightful, weaving together Bundelkhandi, Gujarati, Bengali, Bihari, and Oriya flavors to create a blend of taste unique to this homestay. Price Description: The price is for double occupancy and includes all taxes and accommodation with the meals mentioned below.
Meals: Breakfast
Third Person/Child: Extra adult charge is 1500, 1200 for children from 7 to 12 years of age.
Raahghar Payment Terms: Reservation is confirmed with an advance payment of 50% of the total amount at the time of booking. The balance payment is to be made 7 days prior to check-in.
Cancellation Policy (Indian Passport Holders Only):
In case of a cancellation due to any unforeseen circumstance a credit note will be issued by the property to the guest for the amount paid till date.
The credit note will be valid for use within one year from the period of booking. The guest can redeem the credit note against the amount of any future booking within a year and pay the balance if any as per the rates applicable on that date. This credit note is also transferable and can be used by the guest/transferee only once within the stipulated date.

In Orchha, it is important that the tourist-related activities are catered to properly. Madhur observes a no commission policy where all his guides. The transport operators are instructed to choose a place for shopping, etc based strictly on its merit.
