At this riverside homestay, every corner hums with love and destiny. Especially when Rashid bhai is around, with his warm smile and stories that trace back to 2001, when he first met Odile, a French traveller, in Delhi’s Janpath Market. A simple “bonjour” turned into a lifetime of togetherness.
Odile was waiting for a delayed baggage from Paris, and if not for that moment, she would’ve been elsewhere. But fate led them to Kashmir, where during a hike they found a quiet piece of land by the gushing Sindh River, the very spot where Farah’s Homestay stands today. Originally just a home, it became a homestay after their daughter, Farah, was born. In summers, the full house opens up to guests, while in winters, it’s the warm rooms above the kitchen that keep you cosy.
Evenings at Farah’s are best spent by the kitchen hearth, where Odile cooks up French-Kashmiri comfort meals, and Rashid bhai chats about the early days of their journey. The sound of the river, the crackle of the fire, the aroma of dinner, it all comes together in a way that makes you feel like you’ve known this place forever.

Raahghar Payment Terms: Reservation is confirmed with an advance payment of 50% of the total amount at the time of booking. The balance payment is to be made 7 days prior to check-in.
Cancellation Policy (Indian Passport Holders Only):
In case of a cancellation due to any unforeseen circumstance a credit note will be issued by the property to the guest for the amount paid till date.
The credit note will be valid for use within one year from the period of booking. The guest can redeem the credit note against the amount of any future booking within a year and pay the balance if any as per the rates applicable on that date. This credit note is also transferable and can be used by the guest/transferee only once within the stipulated date.
