Baan Nimbus

by George & Tukie

A fairytale escape to a cosy cottage

Sakleshpur, Karnataka
Baan Nimbus

Introduction

George is an architect by profession and his wife Tukie comes from Thailand with a background in hospitality. Together they have created Baan Nimbus and given it an eclectic touch that can be seen in every corner of this lively space. The land was originally bought with the intention of having a small coffee plantation with an even smaller but cozy family accommodation that came into being an intimate 6-room space over the years. The usual monotony in the landscape is thrown open to random colorful elements like a red door frame that welcomes you into the property or the furniture pieces which keep being bought by the couple to be a part of Baan Nimbus. When you sit and read a book or have a conversation with the owners by the pool, the pleasures of a slow life can be felt. Mangala, the neighbor, is the chef and she even mixes some refreshing drinks for that warm afternoon when you come back from a drive. Latte, the dog, and Tiger, the cat are always around and they would love some attention when it's not been given to the landscape around as you sit and enjoy the sound of silence at Bann Nimbus.

Access to the property: From Sakleshpur town you can catch an auto for 200 to the property or simply follow Google Maps. A prior intimation is needed for the gates to be open at Bann Nimbus.

star

The property is the brainchild of George the Architect from Bangalore. Most of the material used to build Bann Nimbus is reclaimed, including the tiles and windows of the rooms. The art is spread around the property with random elements like a Red door through which you pass before you are welcomed in.

star

Mangala, the chef, and her husband are like shadow owners of Bann Nimbus. They take care of the property as their own on the days when Tiku and George are not in. Both of them are locals and so are the other people who work here.

Will be displayed soon.
