In the quiet village of Moira, Goa, there’s a house where old walls hold new memories. Birdsong, Moira was originally built in the early 1800s, shaped by Portuguese design and surrounded by native greenery. In 2009, Tiya Tejpal and her family found this home and chose it as their family retreat. Rather than changing it completely, they restored it with care, keeping its soul intact while filling it with their own stories. Over the years, Tiya and her sister Cara brought in furniture, photographs, and small treasures from their travels, making Birdsong an extension of who they are.
What began as a private getaway eventually opened its doors to travellers. Today, Tiya, Cara, and their mother welcome guests into six thoughtfully designed rooms on the ground floor while continuing to live upstairs. Someone from the family is usually around to greet guests or share a quiet moment. The meals cooked by their in-house chef blend traditional Goan flavours with touches from the family’s travels. Coming from a family of writers, the library is filled with books from their private collection. Birdsong is a home where Goa’s old-world charm meets lived-in comfort, where every stay feels like a gentle pause from everyday life.
Birdsong offers six ground-floor rooms, some facing the garden and others the pool. Each room has its own character, with spacious bathrooms and a few fitted for families, including one with a bunk bed for children.
This two-level Kumaoni style inspired room was the very first one that was inhabited. With two single beds on the ground floor and a cosy double bed in the loft, this suite comfortably sleeps four people. Room 1 opens out onto the front porch and the garden, providing ample privacy.

If you're aiming for complete privacy, Pepper is the suite for you. Tucked away off the verandah, it features a king bed, a single bed, dark tones, striking artwork, and the comfiest sofa—arguably BirdSong’s most exceptional and atmospheric offering.

The Arcanjela Suite, at the heart of BirdSong, features a striking stone design and a cinematic spiral staircase leading to a loft. Highlights include a plush double bed, private ante-room, outdoor shower, and views of the lawn and L-shaped pool.

Cinnamon is an experience in itself like a small, divine apartment. It features a double bed, bunk bed, study table, vintage winged chairs, and striking Indian iconography. Its eccentric, multi-level bathroom boasts a tree, spiral water feature, stone basin, and sunken shower.

Two broad archways separate the suite into a cozy living room and a serene bedroom with a built-in double bed. A spacious glass-lined bathroom opens to the courtyard and pool, with trees brushing gently against the windows.

Price Description: The price displayed is the lowest seasonal rates for double occupancy and includes all taxes and accommodation with the meals mentioned below. Prices may change with the season, especially during the peak season months.

Extra Note: Rates for single occupancy are same as double occupancy.
Third Person/Child: Third Person: Rs.4720 (15 years & above), Child price - Rs.3540 (7 years to 15 years).
Raahghar Payment Terms: Reservation is confirmed with an advance payment of 50% of the total amount at the time of booking. The balance payment is to be made 7 days prior to check-in.
Cancellation Policy (Indian Passport Holders Only):
In case of a cancellation due to any unforeseen circumstance a credit note will be issued by the property to the guest for the amount paid till date.
The credit note will be valid for use within one year from the period of booking. The guest can redeem the credit note against the amount of any future booking within a year and pay the balance if any as per the rates applicable on that date. This credit note is also transferable and can be used by the guest/transferee only once within the stipulated date.

Madgaon is the nearest main railway station 1 hr away (50 Kms). Thivim is the nearest railway station 22 mins away (13 Kms).
Well connected road networks, Panvel-Kochi-Kanyakumari-Mumbai Highway (NH66) is just 10 mins away.
The narrow scenic roads of Moira lead you to the gates of The Birdsong. There is no on site parking so call ahead and they will be happy to help with the luggage.
All kitchen and garden waste is composted on-site. No chemical fertilizers or repellents are used on the grounds.
Drinking water is served in glass bottles, avoiding single-use plastics. Glass and metal waste is recycled with care.
