Capella was built in 2006 as an independent home on a forested hillside in the sleepy village of Parra. Even before the house was completed, the family was inundated with visits from friends and relatives who loved the large, open-plan house and in 2012, Capella Forest Retreat & Homestay opened its doors to travellers from across India and around the world.
The house is built in a tropical style—open and airy, with multiple sit-outs, verandas, a central courtyard and a terrace. The large, infinity pool overlooks the tree canopy and is a favourite hang-out for most guests. An evening by the poolside, listening to a bird song is how the guests at Capella ideally call it a day. Guests linger over coffee with homemade snacks, lose themselves in a good book, or simply watch the sky change its colors, and one realizes that this is what they call being at home.
The host Ayesha lives on site with the staff, two cats Muffin and Simba and Echo the dog. A typical day at Capella begins with a generous breakfast prepared by the cook Gita offering various Indian options along with their signature Parsi-style Akuri (a nod to the host’s Parsi-Goan roots) The other members of the team are Seema and Chand who help with the housekeeping and garden. Ayesha is always available to assist with transport and personalized recommendations for sightseeing and dining.
Capella offers four bedrooms and each named after Ayesha’s favourite flowering trees. Thoughtfully designed with antique furniture, carpets, lamps and books from the owner’s collection. Surrounded by forest on three sides, guests can catch a glimpse of a variety of wild creatures including monkeys, civet cats and porcupines and some amazing birds, including peacocks, paradise flycatchers and hornbills.

Located on the ground floor, Jacaranda is an elegant room with a view of the pool. Its convenient location makes it especially suitable for families travelling with elderly members.

A cosy smaller downstairs room near the living area, Frangipani is best suited for couples, solo travellers, or guests with elderly companions. It opens onto the veranda and the infinity edge pool.

This luxurious first-floor room overlooks the central courtyard and features a private balcony. Furnished with antique pieces and a king-sized bed (convertible to twins), Magnolia also includes a spacious bathroom and dressing area, making it perfect for couples and small families.

Heliconia is a spacious, airy room on the first floor with stunning views of hills and fields. It includes a terrace sit-out with open and covered areas for breakfast outdoors. Furnished with a regal four-poster bed and seating area, it’s perfect for couples and small families.

Price Description: The price is for double occupancy and includes taxes and accommodation with the meals mentioned below. Outside food is allowed.

Extra Note: While the rooms are powered by an inverter during power cuts, air conditioners are not connected to the inverter grid.The tariff displayed is the lowest seasonal rate for double occupancy. Prices may change with the season, especially during peak months.
Third Person/Child: 1500 per person per night
Raahghar Payment Terms: Reservation is confirmed with an advance payment of 50% of the total amount at the time of booking. The balance payment is to be made 7 days prior to check-in.
Cancellation Policy (Indian Passport Holders Only):
In case of a cancellation due to any unforeseen circumstances a credit note will be issued by the property to the guest for the amount paid till date.
The credit note will be valid for use within one year from the period of booking. The guest can redeem the credit note against the amount of any future booking within a year and pay the balance if any as per the rates applicable on that date. This credit note is also transferable and can be used by the guest/transferee only once within the stipulated date.

Manohar International Airport (Mopa) is just 40 minutes away (27 km), while Dabolim Airport is about 1 hour away (40 km).
Thivim is the nearest railway station, located 40 minutes away (18 km), with Madgaon as the main railway hub roughly 1 hour away (45 km).
With well-connected road networks, Calangute & Anjuna are just a 10–15 minute drive away. Assagao village is only 5 minutes from the homestay, and Panjim city as well as popular North Goa beaches can be reached within 30 minutes.
Capella is located on a hill and there are about 20-25 outdoor steps leading up to the main house. It may not be suitable for people with mobility issues and people travelling with infants and small children.
Capella does not sell or serve drinking water or beverages in plastic bottles; guest rooms are supplied with purified water from an in-house RO system.
The homestay uses solar panels to meet part of its hot water requirements, promoting renewable energy use.
Waste segregation is practiced at the source, with organic waste collected daily by the local panchayat for composting.
