Kavita and Sanjeev Berry, the passionate duo behind this eco-friendly sanctuary, transformed a barren landscape into a lush, fruitful haven that nurtures both the land and the soul. Nearly 15 years ago, they stumbled upon this spot during a trek, instantly envisioning it as a place for growing vegetables and bringing people closer to nature. Built over 16 months using mud, bricks, and wood, Fragrant Sun has a timeless charm that merges Kavita’s interior design touch with Sanjeev’s hospitality know-how. Every corner of the property has a story - the dining area wraps around a majestic tree, the breakfast table overlooks the lake and sewing machine tables from Kavita’s father’s cloth factory bring a rustic touch to the spaces.
Days at Fragrant Sun unfold in a rhythm all their own. Start with a delightful breakfast of dal pakwaan and chole bhature at the outdoor community table, then perhaps indulge in tacos or refreshing salads on the verandah for lunch. Dinner is an event under the stars, complete with wood-fired pizzas and pani puri by the bonfire – a true feast for the senses that leaves you eagerly anticipate each meal.
But it’s the landscape, revived from its former barren state, that truly captivates. Kavita and Sanjeev have spent years cultivating the property, transforming it into a lush orchard filled with fruit trees and thriving vegetable patches.
Whether you’re looking for a romantic escape or a peaceful retreat, Fragrant Sun offers a rare mix of warmth, charm, and eco-conscious living that feels as nurturing as it is restorative. There are 4 Standard Cottages, 2 Suite Cottages and 1 family Cottage adorned with upcycled or vintage furniture with hand picked elements curated by the hosts.
Built with natural mud and laterite stone, the Fragrant Earth Suite Cottage overlooks Mulshi Lake through a large picture window facing the vintage wooden bed. It is a 3–4 minute walk from the common spaces, accessed via a series of steps.

Price Description: The price is for Double Occupancy and includes all taxes and accommodation with the following meals mentioned below.

Third Person/Child: Extra Adult: Rs. 2400/-
Raahghar Payment Terms: Reservation is confirmed with an advance payment of 50% of the total amount at the time of booking. The balance payment is to be made 7 days prior to check-in.

The home has been decorated with ancestral heirlooms & items from the host’s travels.
The property is remotely located on a hill overlooking the Mulshi lake, guests are welcome to take a refreshing dip at the bottom of the hill.
