Sit by the river, let silence speak
What if a childhood memory is so precious that you’re willing to upend your life just to find it again? For Mustafa, that memory was Saraka, his uncle's homestay. It hummed in the background of his years spent in high-stakes logic and building systems, a persistent reminder of a world that felt more real than the digital one he’d mastered.Eventually, he stopped ignoring it and built Marchula. But while Mustafa laid the foundation, it was Mansi who gave the dream its pulse. Along with their daughter, Amna, they are the hidden signatures in every room seen in the warmth that no blueprint could have predicted.
The cottages, built from locally sourced stone and upcycled vintage furniture, offer over 600 square feet of rugged, intentional comfort. Reaching them often requires a 4x4 river crossing, but as the fire crackles and the Ramganga river fills the silence, you’ll see why they come back. Some places become memories. Marchula becomes a feeling you return to.
Room Overview:
When you first step inside, you are right in the heart of the house, an open, unhurried kitchen and dining space. It’s built for slow mornings and the coffee brews while you watch the fog clear over the tree line. There is a large central table that naturally becomes the gathering point, bridging the gap between a shared homemade meal and the wild landscape right outside the glass. Just beyond this common area are three independent rooms, inside, the walls give way to massive windows that frame the forest and mountains rather than just viewing them, offering a seamless connection to the wild from a place of deep, quiet comfort.
Features three spacious rooms Semal, Khair, and Moringa each named after native tree species found closest to the room. The rooms offer beautiful views of the river and forest. Every room includes a private en-suite bathroom and comfortable interiors
