Named after the wild pheasants that roam the surrounding emerald jungles, Kaleege House sits on a quiet ridge in Takdah, a misty hamlet tucked between Kalimpong and Darjeeling at 4,500 feet. The story here belongs to Prabhdev, who traded the fast-paced world of sports journalism in Delhi, and his wife Mridula, who brought him home to her roots. What began in 2017 as a private sanctuary slowly evolved into a homestay that completely redefines highland hospitality, drawing travelers into the slow rhythm of mountain life.
The accommodations are designed to feel like a gentle extension of the hills, where large windows frame 180-degree forest views and the soft whistle of pine-scented wind replaces the morning alarm. Inside, the spaces effortlessly blend raw, rustic charm with a cozy, sophisticated warmth. Days here begin with the call of the wild pheasant and end around a shared table, where Mridula, a passionate, intuitive cook, serves incredible, comforting meals made entirely from ingredients grown in their own backyard.

The main house has one guest room, while a separate cottage has two rooms and a central lounge. Breakfasts and dinners are served in the main home.

Price Description: The price is for double occupancy and includes all taxes and accommodation with the meals mentioned below.
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Third Person/Child: 3300 (For a child between 7-12yrs) || Single Occupancy: Rs. 11000/-
Raahghar Payment Terms: Reservation is confirmed with an advance payment of 50% of the total amount at the time of booking. The balance payment is to be made 7 days prior to check-in.
Cancellation Policy (Indian Passport Holders Only):
In case of a cancellation due to any unforeseen circumstance a credit note will be issued by the property to the guest for the amount paid till date.
The credit note will be valid for use within one year from the period of booking. The guest can redeem the credit note against the amount of any future booking within a year and pay the balance if any as per the rates applicable on that date. This credit note is also transferable and can be used by the guest/transferee only once within the stipulated date.
