Embark on a seven-day journey from Karnataka's serene coast to Kerala's majestic Western Ghats. Explore three beautiful homestays, including the historic Thalathoor Heritage in Kasaragod, tranquil Chengappa Homestead in Coorg, and scenic Amaryllis in Wayanad, each offering a unique experience encapsulating the charm and hospitality of South India.
Booking procedure:
Step 1: Upon enquiry, we will share an approximate cost for the trip based on the changes (if any) made to the mentioned itinerary.
Step 2: Once the approximate costing and the route is approved we ask for a nominal adjustable deposit of Rs.1000/- per head before we can give you the exact cost (which is plus or minus 5% of the approximate cost).
Step 3: An advance payment of 50% of the total amount (incl taxes) is needed to confirm the homestays. It needs to be paid at the time of booking.
Step 4: Balance payment is expected 2 weeks prior to the date of departure.
Step 5: A final detailed itinerary would be shared after the balance payment, which will include all the experience, included and recommended.
Cancellation policy:
1. In case of a cancellation due to any unforeseen circumstance upto 14days prior to travel date a credit note will be issued to the guest for the amount paid till date.
2.Where the cancellation is within 14days charges @25% of the amount paid will be levied.
3.The credit note will be valid for use within one year from the period of booking. Guest can redeem the credit note against the amount of any future booking within a year and pay the balance if any as per the rates applicable on that date.
4.This credit note is also transferable and can be used by the guest/transferee only once within the stipulated date.
Upon arrival at Mangalore Airport in Karnataka, cross over to Kerala and check in to Thalathoor Heritage, a 150-year-old home owned by Shyamala Nair, your host for the next two days. The evening is free to relax in the plantations surrounding the stay.
In the morning, enjoy a traditional North Kerala breakfast while conversing with Shyamala about how to spend your day. In the evening, take a drive to the famous Bekal Fort, scenically located on the coast. Enjoy a farewell dinner with the host along with more stories of the region.
From the coast to the Ghats, drive back into Karnataka and ascend the Western Ghats to reach your home for the following two nights, Chengappa Homestead.
Chengappa Homestead features a natural water body amidst rice fields, which extend further to the Nagarhole Wildlife Sanctuary. An easy day trip to the town of Madikeri is an option, where you can enjoy a local lunch in Kodogu style. Early in the evening, return to Chengappa and enjoy an easy hike to the foothills of the Ghats.
Today’s drive promises to be the best one yet as you continue driving on the Western Ghats, ascending to Wayanad. Enjoy a warm welcome from Victor and Rajini at Amaryllis, a pioneer of homestays in the district. The home is beautifully located on a hill with lovely views of the surroundings. Enjoy an easy stroll on the property before dinner, which is a laid-out affair at Amaryllis.
The day is free to take in the surroundings of Wayanad or simply relax by the pool at Amaryllis. The hosts will be happy to organize a Kerala massage (extra) or any other particular requests you may have to make your stay comfortable.
Bid adieu to your hosts and drive back to the coast in the morning, heading to the city of Calicut. We recommend a stay at the Taj Calicut to further explore the town and enjoy the long promenade. However, if you prefer, there are evening flights from Kozhikode to fly you back home.
